!i! Love Is...an adventure !i!

Love is...when a husband takes a regular weeknight and turns it into a date night!

Love is...when a husband forgoes his movie plans to have an adventure with his wife!

Love is...when a husband drives all the way to Kamas at 11 pm because his wife wants to see stars!

Love is...when a husband goes 35 mph on a 55 mph road because his wife is afraid of hitting deer!

Love is...when a husband thanks his wife for watching for deer...even though he is highly annoyed!

Love is...when a husband lets his wife pick the music for a road trip!

Love is...taking his wife to the spot where he proposed when she said she wanted to overlook the valley!

!i! 1st Anniversary !i!

Next month we celebrate our first anniversary! 1 year!! It seems like we just barely got married! We were debating about how we wanted to celebrate. No matter what we thought would be a fun way to celebrate, nothing even came close to how much fun we had last September when we got married and went to Hawaii.

I decided to take everyone's advise and travel while we still could. We decided we couldn't top our honeymoon, but we could MATCH it! We priced flight and hotel and bought tickets! (I had to leave the room while A.J. was making the purchase online because it gave me anxiety). But ... We are going to Howie!!

!i! My Favorite Place !i!

Silver Lake is one of my most favorite places to go! It's right by Solitude Ski Resort. There is a marsh land with a lake and a board walk that goes most of the way around it. This is where we filmed our engagement video. We recently spent the afternoon up here and it was gorgeous! But I do recommend some mosquito repellent because I think I was the mosquito's lunch that day! AJ...of course...got no bites!!

!i! Small Get-a-way !i!

AJ and I recently went to Park City and spent a weekend hiking and enjoying all sorts of out doorsy stuff. We stayed in a hotel for a couple of nights and it was just fun to get away from everything! We packed up all of our stuff and loaded it into AJ's car and he realized that he had left the lights on and the car wouldn't start! So AJ's dad was nice enough to drive over and give us a jump and we were off!
Once in Park City, we walked up and down Mainstreet searching for somewhere to eat that wouldn't break the bank (which was impossible). So we ended up trying out Loco Lizard. It was pretty good! AJ and I are always trying to find new restaurants to try (otherwise our default is Chili's). The next day, we rode a ski lift up Deer Valley and hiked around and wore ourselves out!!! We stayed in the hotel the rest of the day watching puppy shows on cable!!
Overall, it was a fun little get-a-away! We definitely enjoy all the time that we can have together since it time together seems to be a rarity these days!

!i! Fire !i!

A few nights ago, I was woken up around 1:30 in the morning to a siren just outside of our window. I peeked out the window and I saw a fire truck pull in, but I didn't think much of it. I went back to bed. About half an hour later, I heard more sirens pull in. I looked out the window again and I see the firemen unrolling the fire hose. At this point, I thought there must be something going on. I couldn't see anything from our bedroom windows so I ran outside and this is what I see from my front door:

I ran back inside and I tell AJ to get out of bed, get dressed, and start packing. I start packing all of our sentimental things like our pictures and our wedding video. AJ goes straight to his computer tower and grabs it. While we are packing, a police officer bangs on our door and tells us to get out of our apartment. I scrambled to get the rest of our stuff and we run out the door. We stood out there for 2 and 1/2 hours waiting...wondering if the fire was going to spread to our building and wondering if there would be any smoke damage. Fortunately, we were let back into our apartment around 5 in the morning. We were so grateful that we were both safe and that we didn't lose anything. We were also grateful that we have renter's insurance!!
